It exploded! Finally, on May 1st, the first truly decent sunrise of Datong this year arrived.
I don't know how long it has been since I woke up early to chase the light. The spring in Datong is so cold that it is stubborn and cold, and even the sky is often blank. But on this day, the rosy glow I had been waiting for is coming.
At four o'clock in the morning, everyone was still asleep, but I had already arrived at Wenying Lake. The wooden wharf stretches quietly towards the lake, empty and simple, which is the ideal prospect in my heart. At this moment, the lake water is as still as an unpolished mirror, so pure that it does not contain a trace of dust. When the sky shines, it becomes the same color as water and sky, so clear that it makes people feel at ease.
Even more rare is that the reeds and weeds in early spring have not yet sprouted, and the shore is clean and pristine, with a natural and pure scene without any unnecessary disturbance. Everything is just right, except for the appearance of Xia Guang.
Unfortunately, there was an inexplicable musty smell in the air, like a long stuffy cloth, faint and persistent. I had to hastily set up the tripod, adjust the delay parameters, and then dodge far away, letting the camera wait alone for this grand sunrise.
The sky lit up slowly. First came light pink, then orange red, and the clouds were ignited layer by layer, spreading from the horizon to the center of the lake. The wooden plank bridge creates a gentle silhouette in the rosy glow, with the reflection of the lake and the sky complementing each other. Red, gold, purple, and blue are constantly changing. I stood in the distance, quietly watching as I slowly recorded the entire process of the morning glow, from a gentle wave to a brilliant display, and then slowly spreading throughout the city.
The cold wind still lingers, and the odor has not dissipated, but when the sky is filled with rosy glow, all the waiting and discomfort are instantly worth it.
